These days water resilience comes cheap. Plastics and PVCs do the trick, but they won't break in like waxed cotton. They won't take on the personality of their owners or crease around an individual body's movements. They won't beg to be handed down to the next generation of adventurers. We built the plastic ponchos antithesis - a versatile and remarkably stout jacket to wear through precipitation or sun, fair weather or worse. A critical outer layer that will last.
Very nice quality and like the Caps, it only fits better with age. This jacket will probably be stolen by a member of my family just like all the Kromer caps I have purchased! The zipper was kind of picky when I initially received it but we found that a few runs up and down started to break it in. This is a perfect jacket for layering with a hoodie or flannel for Michigan's damp fall days. Shout out to my local Stormy dealer, Harvey's Milling and Feeds in Carson City, MI for their kind service!
I bought this jacket at the Duluth Pack store in Canal Park in May 2016. I love the jacket. I wear it in evenings as I walk my dog, rain or shine. Comfortable, heavy construction.
I pray for rain just to wear this jacket. I don this jacket when ever the the temperature gets below 65 or if there is a cool fall breeze. Since it is uninsulated pairing with a warm sweater makes for the perfect fall piece of kit. Being made of a waxed cotton, it isn't breathable so it doesn't fair well in warmer weather. Fit and comfort are good. I prefer that it sits around a few inches from the waist line. It has a classic yet functional look about it so it pairs well with the typical casual men's wardrobe. As with all waxed garments it weares in with its own character and will need to be rewaxed from time to time depending on use. The TL;DR nice jacket. Looks great. Would buy again.
