Trapper hats were once an essential tool for a tough, severe-weather trade. Now, those hats are ubiquitous and, in many cases, made so cheaply they're unlikely to last more than a cold season or two. Stormy Kromer® took our original 6-panel design, our deep commitment to lasting, quality craftsmanship, and created a faux rabbit-fur trapper with Lamilite insulation in the crown. Built to last. Built for any element. Made like you.
To get your size, measure comfortably around your head where your cap will sit, with a tape measure. Take that number in inches, divide by 3.14 (pi) and round up to the nearest eighth. This is your cap size. See the chart for size conversions. You can also print out our hat sizer, click here.
Good fit. Warm.
Outstanding quality and value
I would expect real fur from SK, not this PETA inspired faux crap.
Bought the XL but still not big enough for my noggin. Fits good enough to wear; can't snap the chin straps.
it fits and is comfortable and warm here in Illinois in October
Can you make a six size xxl for us backwoods guys?
Nice quality hat, very warm.
Needed a hat to get me through the Wyoming winters. The Northwoods Trapper Hat was just the ticket. Super comfortable and super warm, and with ear flaps that keep the ears and face nice and toasty even when the Wyoming winds kick up (which is just about 98% of always). Decided to go with the charcoal color and couldn't be happier with the looks of this hat. I wear a size 7 hat and the medium Northwoods Trapper is a perfect fit. Thanks to this hat, winter in Wyoming has met its match.
Under chin fits great. Midwest winters need to be really cold. Very comfortable around brow. Craftsmanship is ideal and I look forward to many years of service.
Please....Please... Please start making this hat in XXL
~~ I will let our design team know about your request for XXL. SK ~~
They say that when you own a Stormy Kromer, no other cap will ever satisfy your taste for comfort or quality. And we believe that’s true too, so we offer what other clothing manufacturers might consider a little crazy. Learn more here.
