The Original Stormy Kromer® Cap

These are exceptional quality hats from a great company. I highly recommend Stormy Kromer!

Christmas gift for my son. I have an original Kromer hat that was my dads dating back to 1929, and love it to pieces. Still keeps my noodle warm in Mn winters.

I have an Original Stormy Kromer. It's obviously a quality hat, well made. My question is, why do the ear flaps only cover half the ear? If the wind is really blowing I have to use the hat AND a hood to keep my ears warm. ~ Sorry to hear your ears aren't fully covered. As with everything in nature, the size and location of everyone's ears are a bit different. We made the earband to fit over most ears. My cap is just as nice as the one I purchased downtown Houghton back in 2011. That one was loved and loved and loved ! Now I bought one for me ! Why did I wait?

I have worn my hat every day for a week now, and I love it. I don't think it is quite warm enough for extended outdoor wear in temperatures much below freezing, but it is great for poping out, running around on errands, and temperatures to just below freezing. Any colder and I think I might need something like the Rancher. My only criticism is that these hats have a high crown. Maybe I have a short head, but if I wear this like I wear a baseball cap it has lots of space above my head, to make it look better I generally wear it further back and tilted up a bit. That said, the extra space is nice for when I want to put the ear band down because there is room to actually put the top 1/3 of my ears in the hat. If S.K. came out with a similar model with a slightly shorter crown, it would be perfect IMO.

Have 6 caps 3 waxed 3 original wool and keep coming back .Great service and always comfort and durability. Love the classic look.

My recent hats are as nice as my ten year old versions, but I do miss the Gortex, especially in Blaze Orange and Camo versions which will obviously be used for hunting.

Hat fits perfect. Can’t wait for cold weather. Stylin’ too!

This is a replacement for one I have owned for years and I have been EXTREMELY happy with. My new one was a disappointment. The hat is visibly lighter having a combination of materials. 85% wool and 15% nylon. My old one is 80% wool 15% recycled fibers 5% "other fibers. I have worn the old one for many years. It has stood up well and has been very warm on hunts in northern Canada. It is old like me and needs to be retired. The difference in the 2 hats is significant enough so I will not be buying another Kromer. ~Sorry to hear the cap isn't what you expected. You can always return your cap within 90 days of purchase.
