While snowmobiling in the UP I couldn't help but notice many of the locals with these cool looking hats on. After sitting at Uncle Sam's in Ironwood Mi, and some liquid courage I asked one of the patrons where someone could get one. After a long story about the hat I couldn't believe it was made in the same City, State, and even in the USA. Got one the next morning at the Hobby Wheel just off the main trail in Ironwood. Thank you Blatz now I have my first Kromer and more to come soon. -Iowa Sledder

I just received my new goretex model green plaid stormy kromer from Cabela's.The hat fits great thanks to the Cabela's sizing chart and my wife and her seamstress tape measure to measure my head size. I can't quite figure out the ear flaps or I would have given it 5 stars. I guess the ear flaps are intended to only cover the tips of your ears and if you want more than that you order a Rancher model. Also,I signed up for the no-charge 3yr. insurance policy. I've seen people wearing these so now I own one and will see if it is as good as it's suppose to be. -Budman

I received my first Kromer this past December as an anniversary present. The 7 1/8 size was the same fit as my 7 1/8 New Era baseball hats. All in all it's a great hat. The workmanship on it is good, it's comfortable, it's warm, and it's made in the U.P., so it's all around a great product. My only gripe is that there are some folds in the cloth of the headband on mine, which leaves some marks on my forehead that take about an hour to go away. -C-dog

This is my first SK hat. My Brother has been wearing one about a year. Lost my traditional wool watchcap recently. Thought I would give it a try. Was astonished how easy the earflaps came down. And how much it kept out the cold, even in our mad Michigan winter. Putting another on my wishlist, and I've had it less than a week!! -ronnyd

Let me preface this review by stating I've been a loyal Kromer customer for over two decades, well before they became fashionable. I live in rural Maine and use my gear hard, my work often takes me outdoors, and I enjoy the woods and fields year 'round. My Kromer caps have been my faithful companions in the worst of conditions and have never let me down. Which brings us to the autumn of 2010. Seeing a stack of nice new caps at my favorite outfitter's I purchased one. A new cap is about as close to getting dressed up as I get. Being my fifth Kromer cap, other than looking at the size I didn't check it out too closely, figuring I knew what I was getting. Weather cooled off and I started wearing my new cap. There was something odd about it, couldn't put my finger on it until one morning I put on one of my older ones and it came to me... they had changed the brim! The brim on the new cap is a full inch narrower than the old ones! I guess if you're buying one of these caps as a fahion statement its not an issue. On the other hand, if you're a serious outdoorsperson, that inch of missing brim is a very big deal, trust me on this. Kromer has marketed their product based on philosophy "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", and for many years their caps were perfect. Now, in the name of a few pennies savings, they no longer are. My fifth will be my last, I'm very sorry to say. -LarryB

Just bought one with gore-tex, love it. Great fit and am impressed with the construction. Plus made in the good ole USA, just shows the workmanship of Americans. Keep up the great work. -Montana Dave
