While I haven't had an opportunity yet to wear this cap out in the elements (who'd a thought that it wouldn't be cold yet by now in Illinois?), I can tell it's going to be the warmest SK that I have. It fits maybe a little tight, but that'll loosen up with the waxed cotton with regular wearing. Quality is first rate, as expected with SK. When the ear flaps are folded down, your going to be covered well down your neck. I'm actually looking forward to the first cold blast from Mother Nature. Keep up the good work SK!

Just received my new hat. 1st time with the rancher. Works alot better for those cold mornings feeding horses! Would give 5, but my earlobes hang out and get cold..more a me problem I guess..hehe ~~ Sorry to hear your ears aren't fully covered when the earband is pulled down. We try to fit the majority of ears, but sometimes people have overly ambitious ear length!

My husband feeds, plows snow, moves cows, and just about everything else in this cap and it keeps his head and ears toasty. It’s a classic look we love and it’s as stylish as it is functional. We are Storm Kroger fans for life.

Good, true fit (7 1/2). I really like the extended ear flaps that cover my entire ear and the back of my neck. The hat is comfortably warm on cold, windy days. I have the regular waxed cap as well, so I know that this one will keep out the moisture of light rain and wet snow. I bought it for those cold, windy days in November through March here in central Minnesota when the extended flaps make all the difference. Very happy with it!
