I just purchased a new rancher cap. I wanted a cap that was both very durable and warm for when we do our winter campouts. I put my trust in a stormy kromer hat because I know that this cap won't let me down. keep up the great work. -pappy

Finally after 54 years I finally got a Stormy Kromer hat . . . in the best possible way, too. As a Christmas gift! Plaid Rancher, so warm it is impossible to wear in the house! Puttin this thing on my head makes these cold Michigan winters bearable . . . and stylish! -Slamdunke7

Over the years, I've purchase several Kromers and a few Kromer style "knock-offs". My favorite Kromer is the navy blue one worn by my Grandfather when he worked on the Soo Line railroad. The tag says Kromer Blizzard Kap and it was made in Milwaukee. The old hat is a little different (quality wise) than the newer versions, but the chicks dig them all. I purchased the Rancher style in late 2008 as the "originals" do not cut it for me in the winter when it is snowing and blowing and I have to feed the sheep. (Someone has to grow the wool for your hats!) I like that I can pull the flaps down a little lower when I really need to. And when it's more like a Montana winter (they are mild in spite of what your advertizing department claims) I have to flip the flaps up or I'll over heat. The rancher style is just about too warm to wear when I'm moving around and the temperature is above zero. I definately can't wear it playing hockey on the pond. Keep up the good work. -Bob

I purchased a Rancher to hunt in on Saturday, wind chill -10, not even a chill. No Deer , but sat in the stand for 6 hours, without being cold a bit. I loved the hat so much , I purchased an original Kromer on Tuesday, and looking forward to buying one in camo and waxed cotton for the duck blind. Love the hats ,and love that its made in Michigan. Buy one and I Know you'll own more in the future. - Brad -Brad from Monroe

I purchased the orange rancher for hunting. My head stayed so warm that I decided to get a "fancy" hat for wearing out when I'm not hunting. This is the best winter hat that I've ever owned, now I own two ranchers. I recommend them to all my friends and family. This is a must for people who like to go out in the cold, but don't want to get cold. -Trevor in Michigan

Worn a lot of different hats in the cold weather through the years as a hunter and in several US Navy SEAL Team Winter Warfare Platoons. This is by far the best hat I've ever had for being stationary (no heavy exertion) in a cold weather environment. Beautiful, wish I'd have become aware of your hats years ago. Made in USA too, I love it. -gina

This is my 11th STORMY. It is my new all time, must have, favorite deer hunting cap. With my original orange STORMY I would have to wear a stocking cap over it when it got really cold, like this past weekend during the muzzleloader season here in Wis. Temps were in the single digits and windchills were 12 below. This hat performed beyond all my hopes and needs, keeping my ears, neck, and head totally warm. I did have a heavy weight stocking cap in my backpack just in case the hat fell short of keeping me warm. Never needed the stocking cap and that's one less thing I'll be carrying into the woods next year. I would like to see them make a camo version with SCENT-LOCK so I could wear that during the late season archery hunt. All you hunters should get one of these hats, they are FANTASTIC!! -Don's gone hunting again

I will be ordering one tomorrow,I drive a truck, happened to be in Green Bay WI and found one at the mall, never saw or heard of one before, bought one, found the Rancher style online, and I liked what I saw, so I'm buying it!! I am a hat person and this is the best I have ever seen. It rivals the Filson, if you are aware of it. I am 64 yrs old, nd I know hats! -Russell

With much excitement I ordered my first Stormy Kromer hat, a Rancher model to be specific. I heard some reviews of the flaps on the regular model are too short to cover the entire ear, so I opted for the next model in the line. I received my cap via UPS very quickly and was excited to open it. Just too bad I was mistakenly sent the wrong size. I wasn't upset... in fact, I was so happy to be buying from an American company with such a storied reputation I even offered to send it back on my own dime to get a replacement. The lady on the phone said, "Tell you what... you keep that hat, and we'll send you a replacement." Astounded, I said, "Yeah, but...." She interrupted me and said, "Now it was our error, you take that hat and donate it to someone who needs it or give it to a friend", and in a couple days I had the correct Kromer in my hands. I was blown away by the courtesy and the quality of the service. I did, in fact, pass the hat along to a friend, along with the story on the customer service I received. I get all kinds of comments on the hat. I would nearly guarantee there's not another one in the county! At least I've not seen one. I even ran into an old man at the grocery store who in awe stopped, pointed, and with a grin on his face said, "Well, would you look at that! Nice hat!" I get looks all the time. Not that this is what I'm going for...I'm just saying people can see the quality from a mile away. Either that or they're laughing at the 30 year old who's really an 80 year old at heart. I don't care. I love the hat. I smile and go on. It's becoming a trademark. As for performance...this is hands down the best hat I've ever owned. While I'm 30, my scalp thinks it's 80 and is a chrome dome. The Kromer is just what the doctor ordered. I think I've read or heard some others saying it's like an oven on your head. I agree. As SOON as you put it on you can feel the heat retention, not to mention the 100% wind-blocking nature of the crown as well as the extra long pull-down and fold-down ear flaps. If I had to buy all over again, I would 100% recommend the Rancher model. It will do what the regular Kromer does, only better. For the first few weeks it seems to be a little "puffy" on one's head, but it settles down after a bit. It's just perfect. I love the tradition....pure USA. I'm a customer for life. I have several friends who will be SK customers, too. USA....BUY SK! USA....BUY SK! -Bald guy in the midwest
