This hat is built for Alaska, all the way around. Look, feel, and warmth. Only problem is I will need a crowbar to get it off the wife. -SJMPAINTER

My wife loves my Kromer collection, but won't be seen in public with me when I wear the Rancher. She doesn't know how warm and comfortable it is, either. Now I know what hat to wear when I want to be alone. Keep up the good work!P.S. : Go back to the "old" high crown design, and ditch the writing on the back. I know who you are. -Tooker
I can take the cold but when it's frigid, my Stormy Rancher is my hat of choice, whether I'm clearing the driveway or sitting in my deer stand when it's 10 below. The earflaps keep the wind off my ears and the back of my neck. My grandpa owned a Stormy cap over 50 years ago and I'm sorry to say it took me so long to figure out why. Keep up the great product!! I'll be buying more! -Burly Maple

My new SK rancher is my third one and the warmest hat I ever had. I have a waxed cotton and a mackinaw all very good hats. So keep up the good work SK up there in the U.P. -Homer
My rancher showed up today, just in time. We have a winter storm warning and work is shut down due to snow. It works great. My second Kromer, this time with long ear flaps for the bitter weather. Keep making it in America. I no longer buy from a large, northern, direct mail merchandiser, as now their products are cheap, poor quality material and work. Keep it up SK. Thanks, TH -TimH
If you are looking for a cap that will handle the harshest conditions, you don't have too look any further. I've got two of these, one for work and one for play. Before I purchased the first one I read a review where the writer referred to the Rancher as a wool helmet, I would agree with that. Let's just say that when it's snowing the snow doesn't melt off of it. But do yourself a favor, if you don't already own an original Kromer get one of them to go with it, as the Rancher will be to warm when it's 20 degrees or above. -Travis A
I was really excited to find a SK Rancher in our last visit to Marquette. I walk our dogs 2 times per day no matter what the weather. I must say however the hat is just an O.K. The flaps let in wind around the ears. It will do since I dropped $45.00 on it but in cold weather, my Sirius fleece hat will come out. -dnc
