Bought my first one in N. Dakota and wore it in -20 wind chill. Fell in love with it. After beanies, Stetsons, Resistols, and ball caps it was nice to have a warm head when it was cold. My hunting buddies giggled when I bought an orange one, now they all wear them too! -Bill

I love running rabbits with my Beagles.I own three regular Kromers that are normally enough hat for whatever comes my way. I would rate them all with five stars if they had the goretex like the first one I recieved as a gift. The Rancher in blaze is a serious winter garment that never leaves the truck unless its on my head to run the dogs. We are out many hours in the January thru February late season. This is the best hunting hat I have evere had. -Elmer Fudd

I bought this hat in blaze for deer hunting in Minnesota. This is a great hat for cold mornings/evenings. Much better in a stand where stocking caps get pushed up by your coat collar. -The Deerhunter

Have had an original kromer for a few years, but at times wished it better covered my large ears while snow blowing or fishing. Resorted to a hood. Picked up the rancher and all I can say is wow. Warm, comfortable and covers my ears well keeping me toasty. Glad I got this one. -Scott d

I little elf told me that my wife bought a Rancher for Christmas for me! Shhhh....don't tell her that I know what's under the tree. I own three other Kromer's (Camo, Brown, Blaze Orange) and though I love them, I've wanted a Rancher for a long time. Three more days till Christmas....gonna' have to be good! -RunnyNose

Very well built and good to see a "made in U.S.A. of imported parts" whatever that means. But, next time I'll buy a warmer $20 wool or synthetic fleece cap. In my opinion, it's just not fit for serious cold weather outdoor pursuits. I guess you can't put a price on looking "cool" -Db

So sad to return this hat as it offers great insulation and ear coverage, but my husband is searching for a hat that will protect him while out setting up the sugarbush in Northern Vermont -- he needs protection from cold, wind, and wet! So, although this hat was almost perfect, he has to continue his search. Please, SK, add gore-tex to this one -- we'd be so happy! -Bellagoodvt
