When the earbands are pulled down, they fully cover your ears and extend farther down the neck.
Yes. The Rancher Cap's extended earbands fully cover your ears when pulled down and provide additional coverage at the back of the neck.
The Rancher Cap is built for people who put warmth and function first. With 200-gram Thinsulate™ insulation, fleece-lined earbands, and extended coverage, it's made for those who spend real time outdoors in the cold. Whether you're ice fishing, snow blowing, working outside, or simply refuse to let winter slow you down, the Rancher is built to keep you comfortable in harsh conditions.
No. The Rancher Cap is lined with soft cotton flannel, and the sweatband is made from a comfortable polycotton blend. The earbands are lined with fleece, so the wool outer shell never sits directly against your skin.
Use a soft tape measure to measure around your head where you like your hat to sit. Divide that measurement by 3.14 (π), then round up to the nearest 1/8. This is your Stormy Kromer hat size. If you don't have a tape measure, you can also use a piece of string and measure it against a ruler. Please remember that these hats generally do not stretch over time. If your measurement falls between sizes, or if you prefer a looser fit, we recommend sizing up.
Dry cleaning is the best way to care for your Rancher Cap. For small spills or stains, spot cleaning is often enough. If your cap gets wet from rain or snow, let it air dry naturally away from direct heat or sunlight. Never put your wool cap in the dryer, as the heat can cause it to shrink.

I have the Red, Olive, & Grey Rancher’s Cap and I’ve never found a better winter cap. My only complaint is that you don’t make a brown one and a blue one.

The Rancher Cap is the best cap ever. I'm living in France in the jura Mountains and the weather is inpredictable. This cap is perfect for to be dry and warm. I wore it when i went on the top of the Mont Blanc mountain at Chamonix, when i climbing with my split board before to snowboarding, and everyday. This hat became a part of me. As before, i hope to buy another one when it will possible with the international shipping. Or i could take a tour to see Ironwood ;) .

liked my black rancher cap so much I bought a blaze orange one for hunting season in Wisconsin. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a great warm cap.

I recently purchased a Rancher Style Stormy Kromer Cap in Charcoal. I have three additional "Rancher Style" Stormy Kromer Caps in the following colors: Red/Black Plaid, Black and Blaze Orange. I have other Stormy Kromer Caps in the Original Line, as well as, in the Waxed Cotton Line. As a bald outdoorsman, it is very important to me to keep my head warm and dry. Stormy Kromer Caps do this job very well and are built to a very high standard of quality and performance. I live in Michigan, where the weather is unpredictable and I basically have a "Kromer" on my head from the day after Labor Day until Mid-June. You cannot go wrong when purchasing a "Kromer".

Warmest cap I've ever owned. And very well made. Up here in the Colorado high country, I wear it with a balaclava. One of my kids will likely take it over when I'm dead and gone.
