The only thing I haven’t liked about the rancher hat is that the crown sticks up too high giving a bubble head look. Part of that is the insulation in the hat that makes the wool cap extra warm. This hat does a much better job of keeping my ears warm that my original SK which is why I bought it.

Love the Rancher Cap ! Have had a black onr for a few years now here in Western, NY on Lake Erei and wanted a blaze orange to wear in the deer woods for next season and decided to get one for my brother-in-law and my hephew also. Also purchased a Stormy Kromer Mackinaw a few years back and love that also.

As an owner of an original SK cap I had high hopes for the Rancher Cap and was not disappointed. The size was spot on, and required only a slight adjustment. The hat is warm and the ear flaps are a definite plus. Well made and stylish to boot! Glad I added this to my SK to my wardrobe.
