I like the folding ear flaps, they fully cover the ears and back of neck. This is a warmer cap for cold and cold/windy weather compared to the standard stormy kromer. I have worn kromers for years and I like the ear flaps on this one.

This is my 2nd hat. I sti wear my 22 year old hat. The longer ear flaps and synthetic insulation in the rancher crown jewel made this an idealistic around winter camp hat. I wish I had this hat on those cold days feeding cattle in my younger days.

The Rancher Cap is by far the best hat for the cold winters in the Northeast of New York. The hat is warm and very comfortable
