The Rancher Cap

Very comfortable except when sweating as the headband area feels wet, a wicking material there would help. Warm enough for most activities, but wind does penetrate. Ear flaps work well except when wind is in your face, then they don't help much or even make it worse by funneling it in. I am going to put a strap through the flaps so I can tighten them down. That should work well. For really cold and windy weather sheepskin fleece is my go to. Quality, workmanship and style as well as function for all but the coldest weather is great. ~~ Great suggestions - this will be passed along to our design team. SK ~~

The rancher is a somewhat warm hat and comfortable. If you are looking for a hat to keep your ears warm, this is not the hat. The flaps don’t cover the ears very good and the fabric is thin over the ears. I bought this hat for ice fishing and every day chores but am not happy with it. Fits smaller than sized, I measured my head as per the chart and ordered appropriate size but its to small for my head by at least one size. As I live in Canada its not worth the cost of returning, so I am stuck with a hat that does not fit me. ~~ Sorry your cap isn't fitting properly. Got my SK Rancher back in 2008, still wearing it to this day, great for those cold day out breaking ice and checking cattle. Keeps my head nice and warm. Only reasons I didn’t give it a 5 star is over time the ear flaps are flopping out and let the cold air in. So my ears don’t stay very warm. Other reason is that it’s dry clean only.

Made very good may be sized a little small I added a 1/2 inch and it just fits I would recommend adding 1 inch to overall size

Exactly what i expected, wore it Pheasant Hunting last weekend in super cold weather, kept my head warm and comfortable.

Got this hat and it is amazing!. The pull down flap n the back is great for keeping your ears warm when it is incredibly cold. The crown has thinsulate added to it and it keeps my head very warm - almost too warm, depending on how hard I am working. I wore it yesterday when I was loading groceries for clients when I volunteered at the local food pantry. Kept my noggin and ears warm throughout my 2 hour shift in the close to zero air temperatures. Great hat - recommended highly.

Now this is a real cold weather hat ! Love this hat ! Wish I had not waited so long to get this hat , this is what I have been looking for in a SK hat. Don't get me wrong, my original SK hats are awesome also. But for really cold Michigan days, the Rancher is the hat to get. When my 3 month old chocolate lab gets grown , he will be getting a SK jacket for winter!!
