The Rancher Cap

Best cold weather cap for the money on the market today. My wife doesn’t like me to wear it out in public because of all the attention I get from the lady folk.

This cap is well made with excellent insulation for cold weather. The ear flap design is an improvement over the original Stormy Kromer cap. While this design works well on most days the only negative is that on windy days it allows cold air to get under the flaps. On cold days with little or no wind this is not an issue. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase and will recommend the rancher cap for cold weather.

Could not ask for better fit or quality

Guess you could say I am very pleased,got a blaze orange last year for deer season and bought a grey one this year so one is just not enough

I like the cap and expect it to live up to its reputation. This winter has turned warm and I haven't put it to work.

I LOVE my Rancher cap; I have a few of them!

I have had a older Rancher for years and it was absolutely awesome. It fit perfect, looked perfect, and kept me perfectly warm. The problem started when I lost it and after searching everywhere, couldn’t find it. So, I bought a new Rancher. It isn’t even close to as good as the old one. I guess y’all changed the design very slightly because it is deeper. When on my head it comes down too far. The earband comes way down on my neck and eventually pushes the brim down in my eyes. The hat is the correct size but sits too far down on my head and neck. It also sits down on my ears and is very irritating. I’m still trying to decide what to do with it, but am pretty sure that it was 62 dollars wasted because I won’t be wearing it next winter. Like a lot of perfect things in life, somebody thought that they could make it better, but instead ruined an excellent product. ~~Sorry to hear your Rancher cap isn't living up to expectations. Make a fashion statement. Outstanding design and quality. Warm, durable and comfortable.

Close to 5 stars but leaves me a bit "exposed." When I pull the ear flaps down, I get two issues that create the problem. When I try to get the flaps to the bottom of my ears, the flap will rest on my nape which then forces the the cap to pitch forward and the bill is now low enough to block my upper vision. Sure I can see straight ahead but not much above the horizon. I have to tilt my head back to see up. Now when the cap is pitched forward, the ear flap area has moved up exposing the lower half of my ears. So if the flaps were cut more in the shape of a horizontal figure 8, this would allow more material to hang down past the bottom of my ear. For me, adding no more than 1/2 inch in the ear flap area would provide coverage. But do not add more length to the nape as that would just pitch the cap forward again.
