Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Ironwood Vest fits true to size and is designed to layer comfortably over a flannel, sweater, or sweatshirt. We recommend ordering based on the chest measurement in our sizing chart. If you are 6' or taller, you might consider our tall sizes.

  • The Ironwood Vest is designed to keep your core warm while allowing full freedom of movement. It's warm enough to wear as an outer layer in cool weather and layers comfortably under a coat when temperatures drop. The wool blend makes it a versatile choice for everyday wear throughout the colder months.

  • A wool vest keeps your core warm while giving your arms full freedom of movement. It's a great choice for working outdoors, running errands, or layering when a full coat feels like too much. Many people find a vest to be one of the most versatile pieces in their cold-weather wardrobe.

  • The Ironwood Vest has a cleaner, more modern look with a full-length zipper, stand-up collar, and side welt pockets. The Button Vest has a more traditional design with a button front, V-neck, large patch pockets, and slightly heavier 26-ounce wool. Both are designed for layering, so the choice mostly comes down to styling and how you prefer to wear your vest.

  • Dry cleaning is the best way to care for your Ironwood Vest. Spot cleaning can work for small stains as needed. If the coat becomes wet, allow it to air dry away from direct heat or sunlight. Never machine dry your wool coat.

I would recommend, a beefier zipper., an internal chest phone pocket, some type of closure for the existing pockets.

Very well made. It fits well with enough room for some layering without being restrictive. The tight weave keep the weather out and the pockets are big and deep. The only thing I would like to see is an inside pocket for a phone.

I’ve had my vest for a few years and have liked it. Recently, the zipper broke. I inquired about repair work with SK and was told they do not do repairs. I was not asked how long I had the vest. Other brands with similar products offer repairs even after many years. I would not recommend this vest with a zipper. If considering, I would recommend buying one with buttons so it can be easily repaired. Disappointed. ~ Hello, We're sorry to hear about your vest. We do have a 5-year limited warranty and at this time, we do not do repairs due us approaching our busy season. SK~

I will have to stay, I surely do enjoy my best. Can be wore underneath or over top depending on weather conditions. I prefer buttons snaps versus zipper, but seems like the zipper is a higher quality one. I’m a taller guy 6’3” 280 lbs with a long torso And if it’s perfectly. I have received compliments on how sharp it looks. Great product.

Great unlined vest. A bit of a slimmer fit than my other vest but it looks and fits great. Highly recommend!

Update to my earlier review: the zipper failed after a little over a month of use. Stormy Krmer sent me a mailing label for return and said they would repair it. That's good customer service.
