The Ironwood Vest has a more modern look with a full-length zipper, stand-up collar, and slightly lighter wool for everyday versatility.

  • The Button Vest fits true to size and is designed to layer comfortably over a flannel shirt or sweater. We recommend ordering based on the chest measurement in our sizing chart. If you are 6' or taller, you might consider our tall sizes.

  • Yes, especially in snow. Wool can absorb up to 35% of its weight in moisture while still providing warmth, making the Button Vest an excellent choice for cold, damp conditions. It isn't waterproof, however, so while it will handle light precipitation well, it's not designed for prolonged exposure to heavy rain.

  • Dry cleaning is the best way to care for your Button Vest. Spot cleaning can work for small stains as needed. If the coat becomes wet, allow it to air dry away from direct heat or sunlight. Never machine dry your wool coat.

    I love this vest. Just purchased a second in the waxed cotton version. It is so stylish and comfortable. This one adds warmth in the coldest weather.

    I love this wool vest from Stormy Kromer, essentially a Mackinaw vest. I like how it lays, with the weight of wool, and adds just enough warmth to the core without causing overheating. Superb quality. Highly recommend.

    I purchased my first Button Vest in charcoal this past November, and it immediately became my go-to outerwear. I wore it straight thru winter. I purchased the same vest in olive recently for spring and fall fishing trips. I've also purchased the waxed cotton vest in sand color. 5 stars all the way around.

    The size runs true i.e. I wear a large T-shirt and that's what I got in the wool vest and it's perfect. Very well made and works great as a concealed carry vest. It's long enough to cover and inside the waist band holster and an outside the waist band double mag pouch. I searched for a long time to find something like this and absolutely love it. American made and a quality garment. We immediately got the Waxed Button vest. It is wonderful also.
