  • The Northwoods Trapper Hat is one of our warmest hats, with warmth comparable to our Rancher Cap. It features Lamilite® insulation and faux rabbit fur-lined earflaps that fully cover your ears and provide added protection around the neck.

  • The earflaps can be worn three ways. Snap them under your chin for maximum warmth, leave them down, or snap them on top of the hat when you don't need the extra coverage. Two snap positions under the chin let you adjust the fit for comfort.

  • First, determine your traditional hat size, then use our size chart to find the corresponding S-XXL size. Because of the trapper hat's design, the fit is more forgiving than our fitted caps while still providing excellent comfort and warmth.

  • No. The crown of the Northwoods Trapper Hat has a quilted nylon lining, and the earflaps are lined with soft faux rabbit fur. The wool outer shell provides warmth and durability, while the materials against your skin are designed for everyday comfort.

  • Dry cleaning is the best way to care for your Northwoods Trapper Hat. For small spills or stains, spot cleaning is often enough. If your hat gets wet from rain or snow, let it air dry naturally away from direct heat or sunlight. Never put your hat in the dryer, as the heat can cause the wool to shrink.

    Great quality we have come to expect! Suggestion to add the elastic to the end of flaps too (like ear flaps that attach to buttons) and then when you don’t want to have the long flaps down, they can use the top button to affix them up out of the way. Gives it another look and opens up the ears for hearing too. For now, we are tucking them inside the hat when not in use.

    The hat size I ordered is just right, but the chin strap is way to short. Am unable to get it snapped. Made a custom extension strap to keep ear flaps secure. Very warm !

    This is the hat I really want, but it seems the largest size available is XL. I have a huge head and need an XXL. Also, I think a hat of this quality should come in actual numeric sizes, not just S, M, L, etc.

    Hands down the best hat for when the snow starts flying. Shoveled my driveway today and kept me perfectly warm in 10 degree temperatures. Love it.

    We were able to tour the factory and got a look at the hat before it was avalable for sale. It appeared to be made very well and would be warm. I bought one for my wife's birthday which is just after Christmas. Looking forward to many years of service.

    I was so happy when Stormy Kromer came out with a trapper hat because all of their products are made with extreme quality! Hat fits on my head perfectly and is incredibly warm!!! I definitely wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one and recommend to anyone!!!!

    Great Fit, i'm typically a 7 1/4, would maybe get 1 size up. Very lightweight yet incredibly warm and comfortable to wear. Would highly recommend to anyone considering a trapper hat.
