Like our SK Cruiser, but with a deeper crown for cooler temps and paraffin-treated cotton duck for water resilience. To test: tromp through any rainy day, notice how dry you stay. Rinse and repeat.
To get your size, measure comfortably around your head where your cap will sit, with a tape measure. Take that number in inches, divide by 3.14 (pi) and round up to the nearest eighth. This is your cap size. See the chart for size conversions. You can also print out our hat sizer, click here.
A great and comfortable hat. Works good in the rain.
I wish it came in more than S_M_L sizes. I bought the large and had to put a piece of cotton rope under the head band in order to get it to fit
I've got another waxed tin-cloth hat, a bit more "dressy," so wanted a casual version for wet weather in the woods, etc. The Cruiser should fit the bill perfectly. But! I've got a 7 1/4 - 7 3/8 head and this size medium Cruiser sits on my ears. If I "pinch it like a fedora, though, it fits like I'd expect. Should be a perfect "umbrella" in the woods!
Did get a laugh following it through Indiana for 3 days but it arrived in time for my trip.
Cant wait to wear it. Fall is fast approaching. I am very happy with my purchase. Quality throughout...
Perfect hiking hat for protecting from the sun and rain.
Steven Vaith I like it very much.
Awesome made hat, just need some spring weather to get the best test!! Would recommend it to anyone.
Nice looking hat with some great features and good workmanship. Brim and crown are proportioned very well. I have some $30 and $40 hats that are just about as good, but I've been through a few $30 or $40 hats that were not, so the price isn't bad but could be better - unless a few construction issues were addressed which would put this hat above average. The crown is not attached to the brim, rather the hat band serves as a junction with each the brim and crown sewn to the bottom and top of just the band respectively. At this point, there is just one thickness of material. I don't mind an integral band, but it should be in addition to the base materials rather than the only thing holding the two together. Maybe it will be OK, but the next item definitely needs attention - the sweat band is too narrow and rolls and bunches. It needs to be at least 1 1/2" wide, especially since this hat follows the "S,M,L" sizing model. You will not get a strip of felt to stay inside this sweatband if your head is a bit smaller than one of the three sizing options. The hat band construction, and the way the brim joins it exacerbates the sweat band issue. This was a much appreciated and very thoughtful gift, but if I were the one buying it, I'd have passed at this price. I'm an SK fan, by the way. I've had two SK caps on my hat rack for several years now and they are used almost daily between October and May.
I got this hat for my dad for Christmas and he loved it. He likes wool hats for the winter but this hat seemed like a nice lightweight summer hat.
They say that when you own a Stormy Kromer, no other cap will ever satisfy your taste for comfort or quality. And we believe that’s true too, so we offer what other clothing manufacturers might consider a little crazy. Learn more here.
