  • The Equinox Cap builds on the Sidekick design with added warmth and ear coverage. Both feature the same wool crown and shorter brim, but the Equinox has a longer sherpa-lined earband to better protect your ears in colder weather.

  • The Equinox Cap is designed for the days when one of our traditional caps isn't quite enough, but an insulated crown is more than you need. Its longer sherpa-lined earband provides additional coverage while the uninsulated crown keeps it comfortable through changing conditions.

  • Yes. The Equinox features a longer sherpa-lined earband that provides more ear coverage and warmth than the Sidekick while maintaining the same shorter brim and uninsulated design.

  • Use a soft tape measure to measure around your head where you like your hat to sit. Divide that measurement by 3.14 (π), then round up to the nearest 1/8. This is your Stormy Kromer hat size. If you don't have a tape measure, you can also use a piece of string and measure it against a ruler. Please remember that these hats generally do not stretch over time. If your measurement falls between sizes, or if you prefer a looser fit, we recommend sizing up.

  • Dry cleaning is the best way to care for your Equinox Cap. For small spills or stains, spot cleaning is often enough. If your cap gets wet from rain or snow, let it air dry naturally away from direct heat or sunlight. Never put your wool cap in the dryer, as the heat can cause it to shrink.

    Product received did not match picture on website. Website hat had green plaid material and hat received was grey plaid. Shipping cost to return is $40. Will keep it instead of paying $40 to return. All other Stormy Kromer items we have purchased have been excellent . ~ Hi David, We're sorry the color isn't what you were expecting. We're happy to accept an exchange as long as it is within our return policy guidelines. We find that shipping USPS can be more cost effective, compared to other carriers. ~ SK

    I feel that the fit of your product is not form fitting. Cap feels like it wants to keep sliding up. If you bend over it gets worst. If I could return it I would. Just not happy with the fit at all, and not as warm as projected to be. Ear covers tend to slip up also. ~Hi Pauline, If the cap is sliding up, this may be a sizing issue where it may be too small.     I ordered this cap because it held the promise of really covering my ears in warmth in the coldest of temperatures. I have a rancher cap, along with 8 other caps, four of them being brimless and one of those being the long discountued white (My favorite of the brimless). This cap snugs up tight to the back of my neck and ears and does not allow any drafts unlike the rancher, which is a great cap, but does allow wind to get underneath to the ears if you are facing into the wind. Have only had this cap a few days, which have all been below zero, and it has instantly become my favorite go to cap.
