The Bergland Cap

I should've listened to other reviews. This is a well-made cap, and the materials look nice. Love that it's made in the USA. I bought a size large per the guide, and it fits me well. The major downside is this cap just isn't for cold weather. There's no insulation in the top part (not terrible but something to consider), just wool outer and cotton liner, which is actually a nice combo for comfort. The real issue is with the flap. Yes it folds down to cover the neck and ears, but it doesn't hug the ears up front. I wore this hat for the first time to go on a neighborhood walk in the high 30s with a light wind. I'm honestly not sure if I'll use it a second time. It just wasn't warm enough, and the air wasn't even below freezing. I guess it would be okay for fall weather, but I wanted something for winter. I'd actually return it, but I wore it once and the tag (which I have along with all the other packaging) is no longer attached so doesn't sound like it would be received per SK company policy.

This hat is nearly exceptional. It's incredibly comfortable (perhaps the most comfortable hat I own) and remarkably warm, but it's got a small downside. As is, I feel the location of the snaps aren't quite placed correctly. The flaps on mine hang way out when in the up (clasped) position. It creates a little tunnel which catches the wind a little too well. Apart from function, it also looks a little silly since the flap doesn't stick close to the crown like a standard Stormy. All in all, it's well made with that one minor flaw.

A fine winter cap. Used the sizing chart and got Large. The Berglund fits right and is warm when it is cold outside. The Bergland looks good and matches winter clothes well.

I purchased this hat for my dad just before the ice storms hit here in Tennessee, and it turned out to be a fantastic buy. He absolutely loves it. He says the fit is perfect, it’s very warm without feeling bulky, and it’s comfortable enough to wear all day. What really stands out is the quality — you can tell right away it’s well made. He gets compliments on it all the time, both on how good it looks and how nice it feels. It’s rare to find something that checks all the boxes: fit, warmth, comfort, and style, but this hat does exactly that. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase, and neither could he. Great American product and clearly made with care.

I purchased the Bergland Cap because I was looking for a hat more similar to a ball cap that would keep my ears warm in the cold Michigan winters. This cap in incredibly comfortable and keeps my ears cozy and warm. I like that it is adjustable, and it sits just tight enough to stay on my head while walking in high gusty winds. I look forward to a much warmer feeling winter with this cap on my head!

Excellent quality, warm and comfortable.

I’ve worn this hat during late season hunting in Pennsylvania for the last 3 years, and it’s great. Keeps your head and ears nice and warm. I specifically like that the flaps are kept up with snaps, easy to flip them up and down quickly without having to untie anything. Wish they had it in more patterns/colors, I’d love to have one in red/black plaid.

A handsome, nicely made cap. I don't know what the qualifiers are to get into the Isle Royale collection, but I'd grab one in one of those colors happily. I wish the crown were a little deeper, to fit more of my head, and the brim a little longer, to keep crud off my glasses, but otherwise I'm quite happy so far - now that the weather's turning cold enough to warrant it, I'm eager to see how warm it keeps me!
