The Waxed Cotton Cap

Just got mine last week and I love it. I echo what another reviewer said, that the dome fits a little tall and it wants to ride low, sometimes resting on my ears. A little more break-in time and it should fit perfectly. Looking forward to a late fall grouse hunt with my trusty dog, well worn shotgun, and my Stormy Kromer. -Wildcard

Just received blaze orange waxed cap in time for Wyoming antelope hunt. State regs require orange, and cap makes me legal and ready for any wet weather. Nice for group quail and pheasant hunts also. My max 4 version has kept me dry and warm for six duck and turkey hunting seasons in California. Please bring it back! -Chuck

Need to add some portals on the waxed cotton for ventilation. It is a summer cap, it is hot in the summer, and would wear it more if this was the case. Although my Filson has these vents and the sweat build up does not dissipate it does ad character though probably to much for the faint of heart though. -gator620

This is my second Stormy Kromer hat I liked the look of the 1st one so much I hated the fact that I would have to wait 6 months to be able to wear my wool one. I wanted a tuff summer hat and i wasnt the least bit disapointed. It did seem to fit a little bigger than my first hat but I dont want a tight fit any how and it will fit better with a little wear. Awesome product I'll be ordering my third soon. -Shawn

A few days ago I may have given this hat a 4 star for fit. I have an original wool SK, 71/2, and it's maybe the best cap I've ever had. I just got the waxed in green, 71/2, and the dome seemed a little deeper. The edges seemd stiff and kinda laid on my ears, esp. with sunglasses on. It seems a little bigger than my other, BUT, I've been wearing it, and it's been rainy and cool and I've been molding it to my head and messing w/ it and you know what? It's starting to come into it. I don't expect this hat to keep me that warm, this is a spring/fall cap, and if it's pouring rain, give me a hood. I like the short bill, If I need more I pull the hat down on my brow a little more. This hat seems tough and that's why I've got to break it in a bit. If I wanted a wimpy hat, I'd get one somewhere else. I'm gonna do my best to wear mine in, then out. Get a twill if you need something softer. :) -derik

This is my third Kromer for myself in as many months and I even ordered one for my son. Either I need therapy or these hats are just that great. Guess what -- They are! When I'm not at work, I live outdoors and am always wearing some sort of noggin cover. This waxed cap fits and covers my cranium just as nice as the original wool, but is more comfortable during the warmer times. Awesome fit, texture and look -- thanks Stormy Kromer Merc. -Side

wowsers again!!! i just recieved, this morning, my new stormy kromer waxed cotton hat. it fits so well i think you must of had my head bone at the shop for sizing, that's how well it fit right out of the box. i really like the color,dark green. i am thinking this hat , along with my 4 other stormys' will be added to my heirloom list for distribution for when i am gone to the hereafter.( unless i decide beforehand to take them with me!!) excellent head cover for me here in northern wisconsin. i look forward to many years of warmth and comfort from your hats. -danknee

Bought this hat for the Missouri duck season and hesitated taking it to Maine for a sea duck hunt because I thought it wouldn't be warm enough. Boy I tell you, it worked great! I was very impressed with the warmth you get from such a light hat! I love it! -Duck man
