The Mesh Hiker

I had been looking at this hat for myself. My wife saw the hat online and asked me to order it for her, since I had a discount code. She chose the color and size that I would have ordered for myself. We are spending the month of August as volunteer park hosts on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. The hat provides great protection in this sunny coastal environment. The strap provides security from the wind when we kayak. Guess I need to order one for myself.

I looked at the mesh hiker hat online for a while before finally deciding to buy it. I was looking for a hat with a wider brim to protect me better from the sun, but had a heckuva time finding something that fit my needs. I didn't want a straw hat, and wasn't sold on the styling on some of the other style hats out there with big brassy vent holes, overly heavy canvas, etc. Out of the box, I was really happy with how it fit and the styling. I took the hat with me on a weeks-long vacation to the lake, and it worked perfectly. During some hot, sunny weather, my neck and ears avoided a sunburn and my head kept cool thanks to the mesh. Good airflow. Initially, I wasn't sold on the leather strap, but it actually came in handy several times when out in the boat, it kept my hat from flying off my head when speeding across the water. Great product - very happy with it and know it will be worth every penny for years to come.

Very satisfied, as usual, very well constructed. Received numerous compliments the first time wearing it.

How do I get one through a promotion? And why would a reviewer mention that? Of course he’s going to say good things. The hat has a great fit, good style, and well made.

I got this hat through a promotion but it has become my favorite summer hat. My head sweats a lot and this hat lets the breeze flow through keeping me cool.

I am more of a ball cap guy in the summer but this hat is super comfortable and cool. Have only wore it a few times so far but yesterday it way in the 80’s and this thing was great. Saved my nearly bald head from sunburn and let the breeze blow though enough to keep me cool. Almost too nice to use for yard work but that just may be what it gets used the most for! Cooler than most ball caps plus keeps more of the sun off my ears and back of the neck. I did get this hat free as part of a promotion but it is going to a long term piece of summer work west for me.
