This cap is a classic and provides the perfect amount of warmth for me (I like to by cozy, but not too hot outdoors). The ear flaps don't completely cover my ears, but I'm so happy with the overall shape and fit. The color is slightly darker than in the picture. I know I'll wear this for years to come. This hat is not warm. The optional ear flapscome down just far enough to direct even the slightest breeze into your ear canal. Great cap if you are the kind to wear mltiple hats at the same time. If your thinking twice, don't these Hats, Caps wil get people asking where can I get one. I ordered over 6 last year some for my children, and daughter-in-laws. After about a week they were calling me to say thank's for there Hats. I received a Petal Pusher for Christmas and the next day I called and ordered an Ida Kromer Cap. Never used to wear hats in the blustery Michigan winters along Lake MI. Now I do!
