A proper fit, with the back of the cap below the base of the skull, the front of the cap above the eyebrows.
An improper fit. It balloons up, but it's too high on the head. Pull it down so it gets some bite. Ride this high in a breeze, and it's bye-bye Kromer. That would bite, alright.
A really improper fit. You don't wear a lot of hats, do you? A Kromer always fits best when you give it good direction - in this case, brim-forward and snug on the head.
Step One: Place your thumb on the inside of the cap just under the center of the brim. Use the thumb and forefinger of your other hand to grip the back of the cap.
Step Two: With the brim facing forward, lift the cap up over the top of your head, and lower it onto your head.
Step Three: Pull the rear of the cap down just below the base of the skull, keeping the front of the cap about an inch above your eyebrows. Feel the bite?
To Use the Ear Band: With each hand, grip the ear band on either side of the cap, just behind the ear. Pull the band down until it covers the tops of your ears. NOTE: DO NOT untie the string at the front of the cap to position the ear band.
