The Ida Outfitter

I ordered 3 Ida Outfitters in different fabrics/colors. The fabrics themselves wear beautiful, as was the construction UNTIL I got to the sleeve openings. The openings were gaping and inconsistent—not at all uniform. I am a seamstress and know there’s a flaw in the pattern and construction, especially for those which used binding around the arm holes vs one which “self-faced”—which wasn’t quite so bad. I was able to keep the one vest and “tweak” it as the bound armhole openings were turned in (self-facing). I was SO disappointed as these were just what I was looking for in the way of color, fabric and overall style—except for the armholes. when comparing these vests to several others I have, these are truly an “anomaly.” Again, beautiful fabric and stitching otherwise. If you ever “dial in” the pattern layout and armhole fit I would consider these again, but am returning 2 at this time.

Beautiful plum color, pockets hold a hand or a phone. High quality zipper. Lovely heirloom piece.

Have two of these and they are the best! WIsh Stormy still had the style that had a wrap front. Have one of those as well and would buy more! These vests are a staple in my winter wardrobe.

Beautiful rich plum wool fabric. Nicely fitted. Arm holes are a little big. Runs small so I am glad I bought a medium. fits well.

Great quality. And most of all beautiful work with the seams. The material is beautiful wool that's all I can say. I would give it a 5 star rating but the sizes run a lot smaller than you would think. Luckily the one for my wife still fill fit and she loves it. If ordering for example a small go to a medium etc. Quality material quality workmanship and now I need to look at something for my self.
